I have been wearing textile mesh jackets in the summer but never felt protected from a potential slide. I read reviews of this jacket and thought I would try it, but didn’t really think it would work. However, I was pleasantly surprised: this jacket flows air as well as, or better than textile mesh. It’s well built and fairly thick, which is even more surprising how comfortable it is in the heat. Realistically, this jacket is comfortable in temperatures up to 87-88 degrees as long as you are moving. If you are in stop and go traffic it will get too hot. This is a great product that you can wear on most summer days and gives you that extra level of protection that leather offers. And it looks great also. Sizing was true. The Turbine 100% perforated jacket is butter soft, very well made as well.. Kevin at the Freeport Long Island ,NY store made the buying decision so easy. Great help. CE armor fits well. Zippers are quality too with a lifetime warranty on zipper failure. Labor and parts included. Easily allows for underlines on cool days but fits well without the underliner on warmer days. You can feel even the slightest breeze with all those perforation holes. I would definitely by it again.Fit on this is a little weird. The arms feel a little loose, the wrists don't snug up as much as other jackets, and the neck is a little tighter than my First Manufacturing Top Performer jacket. This is also significantly lighter as well, to the point that I wonder if it's more like 1.0mil cowhide instead of the stated 1.1-1.2 mil. That said, once temps get higher, I'm extremely glad that I got this jacket. The Top Performer is more comfortable and feels safer and thicker, but gets too hot when temps get above 70F. No issues with that here. Whether moving or stopped, the Turbine just breathes. It's far more comfortable than my Olympia mesh/textile jacket, particularly when it gets humid. The mesh flows more air when you're moving, but all that plastic makes you feel like you're melting when you're stopped. The textile portions of the Olympia MIGHT actually be a little better in a slide than the full-perf of the Turbine (thankfully I haven't tried that), but the perf leather will certainly protect better than the mesh. And this really is FULL perf allowing it to breathe in areas where textile panels wouldn't. It's a nice compromise.Like the other First Manufacturing jackets, armor fitment can be quirky. The elbow armor pockets fit about anything, but the shoulder and back pockets can be a bit small. First Manufacturing is now selling universal CE level 2 armor for $20 per part ($60 for a full set of armor). The shoulder pads might stick out slightly from the pockets, but you can either keep them as is for a little better protective coverage, or trim them just enough to close the velcro. We'll see if their back pad is small enough for the pocket, but if not, the Icon D3O Viper 2 WOMEN'S Back Protector (14"x10") will fit perfectly [EDIT: the back protector pocket stretches, so the First Mfg back protector fits just fine, even if it looks too tight]. The D30 is a little stiff and heavy, but it breathes well. Thankfully I haven't tested it in a fall yet.Ultimately, I'm not sure if this can be beat as an inexpensive summer leather jacket. I do prefer the Top Performer for overall comfort and protection, but this is easily my favorite option for when the temps get higher. If you find this on sale, snag it.This is a great looking, well functioning jacket that I could not be more satisfied with - it is perfect!A word about fit: this is a snug fitting jacket. I am 5' 7" tall and wear a 42 shirt suit. 185 lbs with wide shoulders and chest / athletic build with a good V taper & a bit of a gut. The medium fits me perfectly with a Tee-shirt there is no room for a sweatshirt... But why a perforated jacket then? Still reading and just buy it. Size up if you need some room, otherwise go with your tee-shirt size. For the money, this is an excellent jacket. The chest and sleeves fit perfectly (snug) but the waist is looser than expected. Also, the armour pockets are too small for most armor, but I trimmed Icon D30 the back protector and shoulder armor to fit.Love this jacket. Makes for cool riding when temps are high. I expect this jacket will give years of service. Great company, great product. This is no-frills leather jacket for riding in warm to hot weather. It doesn't come with armor, but there are pockets for back and shoulder armor. The leather is good quality and supple. No real break-in period needed. The fit seems run a little on the snug side, but I'm a non-athlete type. This is not a lightweight "cool" summer jacket. Very heavy and not cool at all. Sizes run very small. Returned it.
